Robert Hawkings , Omaha Shooting Gunman picture
Robert Hawkins, the nineteen-year-old gunman, opened fire this afternoon inside the Westroads Mall in Omaha, Nebraska, killing at least nine people, including himself.
The shooting took place in the Von Maur store inside the Omaha Westeroads Mall as scores of shoppers ran out the exits while others looked for cover inside the building.
Jennifer Kramer, a witness who talked to a local television station that she heard 35-40 shots fired.
Debora Kovac, the house-lord of Robert Hawkins, said he had been fired from McDonald’s earlier in the day and had broken up with his girlfriend two weeks ago. He was in a depressed mood.
Robert Hawkins, who wore an Army-green vest and had a rifle, was from Bellevue, a city just south of Omaha. He had been in trouble with the law just last month on two misdemeanor counts.
Some a schoolmate who allegedly Robert Hawkins had once drugged his cousin believed his death is a little to close for comfort.
