Madame Dimanche Is a 19th Century Parisian Widow

Madame Dimanche wax figure picture

Madame Dimanche was a Parisian widow in the early 19th century. She grew a nearly 10-inch-long human horn (cornu cutaneum) on her forehead, much longer than the one of the 95-year-old Grandma Zhao from China. The horn had sprouted when Madame Dimanche was 76 years old. And it was successfully removed after six years growth by a doctor. The picture above shows a wax model of Madame Dimanche's forehead horn, which is now collected at Mutter Museum of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. Yikes!
