Imperial Sugar Plant Explosion at Port Wentworth, Georgia

Imperial Sugar [wiki] is the largest sugar processor and refiner in US. Its headquater is based in Sugar Land, Texas with several refinery facilities located in California, Georgia, and Louisiana. Imperial Sugar Refinery explosion happened at the plant on the Savannah River in Port Wentworth, Georgia on Thursday night, sending 62 people who were burned to hospitals and causing 6 to miss. It's the second deadly accident in US after Charles Lee Thornton shot and killed at least 5 people at the same night in Kirkwood, Missouri. According to Capt. Matt Stanley of the Savannah Fire Department, it was possible that sugar dust from refining process had ignited, sparking the blast.
