Nicole Richie has been hospitalized with pneumonia at a Los Angeles hospital.
"Nicole has checked into Cedars-Sinai where she is being treated for pneumonia. She is doing well." a rep for the star said Wednesday.
The 28-year-old mom of two Tweeted that she was feeling badly for days on Sunday, writing, "ok cold, it's been 6 days. Lets part ways graciously & keep it moving."
Citing illness, Richie bowed out of the Nov. 10 launch of her House of Harlow jewelry at Bebe in L.A.
Nicole Richie and her rumored husband Joel Madden are showing off their 6 week old son Sparrow Midnight James Madden in the latest issue of People magazine.
"I couldn't be happier. The only thing you want is for your kids to be healthy and happy, and they are. I'm right where I belong." Nicole tells the magazine during an interview at their home in Los Angeles.
And Sparrow's big sister Harlow has been helping mummy to take care of her baby brother. "I'm glad I had a girl before I had a boy," says Nicole. "She just loves him so much." and adds Joel, "She's very gentle with him.”

A friend close to the couple told the magazine that Nicole and Joel are expecting a baby boy in August. And another insider said the parents of Harlow are preparing the infant items almost in blue and Nicole is referring to the baby as "he”.
"Joel bought water-based paint for the nursery and — surprise, surprise — it’s blue.”
"Plus, she [Nicole] recently ordered some plush animals and infant toys from FAO Schwarz, and everything just happens to be blue.”
Nicole Richie and Joel Madden haven’t confirmed the sex of their unborn baby.
