Couldn't feel any worse for another aspiring university student to lose the life these days.
A Manhattan man was fatally struck by a car last night as he was attempting to get away from two men trying to rob him.
Police say just before 9 p.m. Ming-Hui Yu, 24, was approached by two men at Broadway and 122nd Street near Columbia University who tried to rob him.
They say Yu ran into the street and was struck by a car on Broadway. He was brought to St. Luke's Hospital where he died.
Police say the robbery suspects fled the scene.
The driver who struck Yu is not expected to face any charges.
Minghui Yu, is a PhD student in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Columbia University.
