13-Year-Old Dad Alfie Patten's Sister Also Became A Parent At 13

Yesterday we told you that boy Alfie Patten became a 13-year-old daddy. It was revealed today in the updated Dailymail report that Alfie's older sister Jade, now 19, also had a baby at the age of 13.

Anyway, without money and job, Alfie Patten, a 4-feet tall pupil, still determined to be a good dad. The second youngest known father in UK has already begun changing nappies for daughter Maisie Roxanne who was given the birth by mom Chantelle Stedman on January 9.

What made this kid-become-father story more like a drama is rumours began circulating in Chantelle's neighbourhood that Alfie was not baby Maisie's father. Neighbor Sean Thomas claimed Chantelle Stedman had already had several boyfriends, who were allowed to stay over in her bedroom.

A DNA test showed a 13-year-old boy in Britain is not the father of a baby born to a 15-year-old he had unprotected sex with once, The Mirror reported.

Chantelle Stedman told Alfie Patten, who was 12 when he slept with her, he was her newborn daughter Maisie's father.

The story caused a worldwide media frenzy, while politicians criticized what they called Britain's declining morals.

At first Stedman said Patten was the only boy she had ever slept with, but soon after other teens came forward saying they too could be the baby's father, because they claimed to have had sex with the girl.

Last month a friend of the Stedman family claimed Patten was scammed by the girl's parents who wanted to cash in on the sensational story.

Suraya Brown is a little and lovely baby girl from UK who seems to refuse to grow. Given the birth four weeks prematurely by mom Atlanta Ruzman 14 months ago, Suraya Brown now weighs only about 7 pounds, growing a mere 4.4 pounds more than her initial weight of 2.6 pounds.

Babies of the same age as Suraya should weigh at least 20 pounds.  Little Suraya Brown stayed at her birth weight for the first eight months and has only put on a small amount over the past six.

A group of specialists including paediatricians, nutritionists, geneticists and hormone experts have checked tiny Suraya, but no one could figure out what caused her staggering growth, instead, rather baffled.

Suraya Brown was alleged of suffering from some form of dwarfism, the test results were not positive. She has now been admitted to London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital where doctors will make further tests and investigate a theory that her body has become resistant to its own growth hormones.

An eight-month pregnant Ugandan mom aboard Northwest Airlines' Flight 59 unexpectedly went to labor when en route from Amsterdam to Boston at New Year's Eve. Under two doctor's help, the mom delivered a healthy baby girl weighed 6 pounds. The toddler now named Sasha was granted a Canadian citizenship because she was born over Canada's airspace.

A Ugandan woman has given birth to a baby girl on board an international flight from Amsterdam to Boston after going into labour mid-flight.

The six-pound (2.7kg) baby named Sasha was delivered on New Year's Eve with the help of two doctors on the eight-hour-long Northwest Airlines flight.

Mother and baby were taken to a Boston hospital on landing and are doing well.

Sasha was deemed a Canadian citizen for customs' purposes because she was born over Canada's airspace.

The rare trans-Atlantic birth was greeted with cheers and applause from passengers on board flight 59, reports said.

The excitement began some six hours into the flight, when the Ugandan woman who was eight-months pregnant went into heavy labour.

Flight crew located two doctors on board the plane, and the woman gave birth to Sasha at 0900 Boston time (1400 GMT) - some 90 minutes before touch down. [BBC]

Meet Jaden Lujan, the 9-year-old girl from California, who help her mom deliver a baby boy at home.

Last Wednesday on September 10 when a 7-month-pregnant Valerie Lujan suddenly began having contractions, there was nobody around but the 9-year-old daughter Jaden Lujan.

Under the guidance from 911 emergency dispatchers, Jaden calmly used a shoelace to tie off the baby's umbilical cord and safely delivered her younger brother weighing 3 pounds and 8 ounces to the world before the paramedics arrived.

"She was very brave. She didn't show any signs of panic," mom Valerie said in the TV interview (video above).

So, how did Jaden Lujan handle a situation that most of girls at her age most probably wouldn't encounter?

"You know, I think my face was the first face he saw, like because his eyes were open when he came out. So, he was like staring up at me. Then, he started peeing." Jaden Lujan said of her special delivery. Link

Kiron, a two-headed boy, was born on August 25 in the Muslims-dominated South Asia's Bangladesh. The newly-born kid, weighing 5.5 kilograms, was given the birth via the Caesarean-section by his 22-year-old mother in the small town Keshobpur, about 140 kilometers away from the country's capital Dhakah.

According to gynaecologist Mohamad Abdul Bari, Kiron developed from one embryo but due to a developmental anomaly he got two heads. Other than that, the little totter has one stomach, one genital organ, four limbs and can eat normally with his two mouths.

Craniofacial duplication [wiki], or known as Diprosopus, is an extremely rare congenital disorder whereby part or all of the face is duplicated on the head. Although classically considered conjoined twinning, this anomaly is not normally due to the fusion or incomplete separation of two embryos. It is the result of a protein called Sonic hedgehog homolog (SHH).

In such a rare case, an Indian baby girl named Lali was born with two faces last month. Baby Lali's facial features are duplicated (four eyes, two noses, and two mouths) with the exception of her ears - she has two. Now one month old, this baby with two faces who was claimed by her villagers  as the reincarnation of the Indian God Ganesha, was said doing well.

"She drinks milk from her two mouths and opens and shuts all the four eyes at one time," the director of Saifi Hospital, Sabir Ali, said.

"She is leading a normal life with no breathing difficulties.''
He said he saw no need for surgery. ...

"Her mother, Sushma, told The Hindustan Times her daughter was "just like any other child".

The doctor said everything is normal when she was born. So where's the need to get medical help?" 24-year-old Kumar said.

Jyoti Amge, an 58-cm-long Achondroplasia Dwarfism Girl in India, Is World's Smallest Teen Girl (Pictures)

 

Jyoti Amge, 15, just about 59.69 cm in height and 5.25 kg in weight, is the world's smallest girl recognized by the Indian Book of Records. Jyoti Amge from Nagpur of central India, has a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia [wiki]. According to mum Ranjana,there seemed nothing wrong at Jyoti's birth, but they came to know about her disorder when she was five. Now fully grown, Amge who won't grow any taller than her current height, enjoys her life with full confidence for the future.

She said: 'I am proud of being small. I love all the attention I get. I'm not scared of being small and I don't regret it.

'I'm just the same as other people. I eat like you, dream like you. I don't feel any different.'

Jyoti is treated like a mini-celebrity in her home town, where people flock to meet her and some even treat her like a goddess.

She will even be releasing an album with her favourite Indian pop star, the bhangra/rap star Mika Singh.

Jyoti is ambitious and hopes to work as a Bollywood actress one day.

She said: 'I would love to work in a big city like Mumbai, act in films and travel to London and America.

In 2006, Nepal's 14-year-old 50-centimeter-tall Khagendra Thapa Magar's apply to Guinness World Records to be the world's shortest man but was dismissed. Thapa Magar was promised to review his application once he grows to 18 years old. It's not clear now if Jyoti Amge will make the similar application to be the world's shortest woman.

Mohammed al-Rashidi and his unidentified cousin will seal the marriage they contracted under the sharia laws of Islam and move in together after a ceremony to take place in the summer, Al-Shams newspaper said.

"I am ready for this marriage. It will help me study better," Mohammed, who goes to primary school in the northern province of Hail, was quoted as saying by Al-Shams.

"I invite all my classmates to do like me," the boy said, adding that he wanted to "crown a love story through marriage".
