Bruce Springsteen Superbowl XLIII Halftime Show On February 1, 2009! Classic rock star Bruce Springsteen will perform at the halftime show of 43rd Super Bowl at Raymond James Stadium on February 1, 2009 in Tampa, Florida, the NFL and the game broadcaster NBC confirmed.

Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band is scheduled to have a 12-minute long performance, and expected to be watched by more than 140 million viewers.

Thanks to Janet Jackson's infamous boob-baring wardrobe malfunction by Justin Timberlake in 2004, all female vocal artists seemed unofficially banned on the show. Since then only male artists such as Rolling Stones, U2, Paul McCartney, Prince and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, performed at the show during the past several years.
