Gillian Gibbons, a talented and able school teacher teaching in Sudan, has been arrested by the Sudanese authorities. The British schoolteacher
is accused of insulting Islam's
Prophet, after she allowed her six and seven-year-olds pupils to name a teddy bear
Muhammad. While Ms Gibbons has no any means to insult Islam, she could still be up to six months in jail, 40 lashes or a fine. :-( Such charge seems very ridiculous!
Update: Ms Gillian Gibbons was sentenced
November 29 to 15 days in prison and deportation. However, the sentence seemed still not enough to appease Sudanese Muslims hardliners who staged a demonstraton to demand the British teddy bear teacher's Execution. Tags:
