Unexpected! We just mentioned Ms. Arabella Spencer-Churchill (picture left), the granddaughter of British wartime Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill two days ago in the post reporting her son Nicholas Jake Barton sentenced 3 years in Australia for trafficking drugs. The latest reports from media say Arabella Spencer has died, of pancreatic cancer, at her home in Glastonbury, southwest England. She is 58.
Born Oct. 31, 1949, Spencer-Churchill was the daughter of Winston Churchill’s son, Major Randolph Frederick Edward Churchill, and June Osborne. The picture (via) right shows Arabella was with her grandfather Winston Churchill in 1958.
Ms Spencer-Churchill married James Barton in 1972 and then renowned juggler Ian `Haggis' McLeod in 1988. She has the son Jake Barton,34, from the first marriage and one daughter Jessica McLeod, 19, from her marriage to Mr McLeod. In fact, it was Ian McLeod who told his wife's death on December 20 to the media.
Arabella Spencer-Churchill was the founder of the Children's World Charity and the Glastonbury rock festival.
