Two groups of lawmakers got into a brawl Friday (Dec 14) in the parliament building of South Korea. One man had to be removed from the chamber by stretcher. The scuffles broke out in the National Assembly when members of the main opposition Grand National Party tried to stop pro-government United New Democratic Party lawmakers from submitting bills to impeach three prosecutors who investigated the leading GNP presidential candidate
Lee Myung-bak and to reopen the probe of. Lee is widely expected to win a Dec. 19 presidential vote, but was alleged of a 2001 stock manipulation and embezzlement by UNDP.
