Olympic Stabbing: American Tourists Attacked At Drum Tower in Beijing

A Chinese man stabbed two American tourists and a Chinese tour guide on the second level of the Drum Tower on August 9, killing an American man and injuring the other two women. The knife-wielding attacker then killed himself by jumping from the Drum Tower after the stabbing.

The two American tourists are the family members of a coach for the United States Olympic Men's Indoor Volleyball Team. Both injured women are in stable condition at a hospital.

The attacker was identified as Tang Yongming from Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province according to an ID card found on his body. The motive for the attack is still unknown. Source: Chinadaily
