George Tiller Shooter Suspect Arrested, Identified As Scott Roeder

A man believed to link to the shooting death of late term abortion doctor George Tiller was arrested, according to Kansas City.

A suspect in this morning's fatal shooting of George Tiller is in custody in Johnson County.

Authorities have yet to release more information about the arrest in Gardner. Wichita police have scheduled a 4 p.m. news conference to discuss the case.

Sedgwick County 911 dispatchers are confirming that the Johnson County Sheriff's Department has arrested a possible suspect in Dr. George Tiller's murder. A car matching the description of the vehicle wanted in the killing was pulled over near Gardner, KS. Wichita Police said a 51-year-old man is under arrest and will likely be booked on one count of murder this evening. The man could also face charges for threatening two other church members and pointing a gun at them.

The stop was made along I-35 near Gardner, south of Kansas City.

Update: Suspected Dr. George Tiller Shooter is identified as Scott Roeder. He was taken into custody in the Sedgwick County Adult Detention Facility without bond. Roeder is charged with first-degree murder and also facing two charges of aggravated assault.

Though Dr. George Tiller's abortion practice is not the thing that could be hailed as good deeds, taking his life in such a violent way deserves being condemned. Dr. Tiller's shooter should be justified!
