It is unclear how much People paid Richie and boyfriend Joel Madden for the rights to publish. The 2-month-old Kate Madden was born Jan. 11 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles.
In the mag which hits newsstands tomorrow, Richie, 26, thrills to be a mom, "It's almost like I don't even remember what life was like before her. She gives life a whole new meaning and a whole new purpose."
