A giant pencil now at the City Museum in St. Louis holds the world's largest pencil title. It is 76 feet long, bright yellow, weighs almost 22,000 pounds. The giant pencil is so large that it can show up on satellite photos.
The missile-sized pencil was constructed of 8,000 Douglas Fur boards, a 10-inch graphite core, and a 200 pound rubber eraser. It was made by Ashrita Furman, a 53-year-old health food store manager from New York for his meditation teacher.
