Other than Borat, Baikonur Cosmodrome and vast steppes, RC editors almost have no knowledge about Kazakhstan, let alone Horelma Peramam, a reported billionaire there. But thanks to a record-breaking real estate deal made last week, we got to know this Kazakh rich man (but yet to find a picture of him) who was said to have paid 50 million pounds (US$97.8 million) for a property named Toprak Mansion, aka Top Whack Mansion (picture above, credit: Forbes.com). Toprak Mansion on Bishop's Avenue in Barnet of North London which is now the U.K.'s most expensive newly built property, was previously owned by Halis Toprak, a Turkish banker, who never lived in the house.
